Chad Andrew Dagnan

Chad Andrew Dagnan, 38, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on April 15, 2026. 

Chad’s life was marked by deep love for his family, unwavering loyalty, and a quiet strength that carried him through every chapter of his life. Chad was a 2006 Graduate of Lookout Valley High School and was employed by Metal Works Solutions. He was an avid Auburn fan “War Eagle” and an Atlanta Braves fan. Chad was a member of Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his parents, John and Michelle Sewell of Chattanooga; his brother, Caleb Sewell of Chattanooga; his children Oakleigh Wharton, Kynzley Bolander, Mark Wharton and their father, Jacob Wharton; his grandparents Sharon Crawford, Jack & Linda Jones and Shirley Hodges.

Chad is also survived by a large and devoted extended family, including his aunts Melanie Carter, Allison (Tommy) Allison, Gail (Darren) Roach, Rebecca, Rhonda, Tammy and Shelley Gunter; his uncles Tommy (Cheryl) Hodges, Jake (Trisha) Sewell, Brian (Kasey) Sewell, Stoney (Jenny) Brophy, Mike (Margie) Brophy and David (Amy) Brophy. His cousins Chandler Carter, Noah Hodges, Jessica Shedd, Jenni Franks, Nikki Steele, Jacob Sewell, and Abel Sewell. He also leaves behind his nephew, Raiden West, who brought him joy.

Chad was preceded in death by his wife, Hayley Dagnan; his grandparents Valerah Hodges, Ralph Hodges, Roy Sewell, Ann Sewell, and Henry Crawford; and his cousin Shane Chapman.

Serving as pallbearers are Caleb Sewell, Eric Brown, Robert Anderson, JD Laney, Brian Gordon, and Chandler Carter.

Chad’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him — in the stories shared, the bonds he built, and the family he cherished above all else.

Funeral services listed before will be for Hayley and Chad. Visitation for Hayley and Chad will be held from 11:00-1:00 on Saturday, April 25 with services to follow at 1:00. Chad and Hayley will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memory Garden West.
