Helen Irene Fussell

Helen Irene (Wall) Fussell, age 78, passed way at her home on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Helen was born in Chattanooga, TN on May 27th, 1945 to Charlie and Edna Wall. After graduating from Rossville High School in 1963, she went on to study elementary education at Tennessee Temple University. It was here where she began a deeper relationship with the Lord, often following the teachings of then president of the school Dr. Lee Roberson. She also volunteered at campus events that focused on evangelism.

In 1975, Helen moved to Tampa, FL and married her husband of 48 years Joe Fussell. Joe and Helen have one daughter, Julie Fussell Tipton and two grandson’s Keller Tipton and Carter Tipton.

Helen is a member of solid rock Baptist church. In her earlier years, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and remained active in the church until her health began to fail. She was also an avid animal lover, bringing home many animals throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her husband, daughter, two grandsons and six niece’s and nephews.

Services will be held at Solid Rock Baptist Church at 3594 Chattanooga Valley Road, Flintstone, GA 30725. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm. Services begin at 1pm, with Pastor Randy Lynn of Moriah Baptist Church officiating.
